Once more, LIP was in the European Researchers' Night (NEI) in Braga (Altice Forum Braga), Coimbra (downtown) and Lisbon (Príncipe Real). Below you find some pictures.
On Monday, 3 October, at 21h00, we present the movie "Particle Fever" at Teatro Académico Gil Vicente, in Coimbra. In the year that marks the tenth anniversary of the discovery of the Higgs boson at CERN's LHC, the film tells the story of this discovery. The account is largely from the point of view of the ATLAS experiment, which together with CMS announced the discovery on July 4, 2012.
The film will be followed by a discussion/debate, with the UC professors Constança Providência, Carlos Fiolhais and Ricardo Gonçalo (also LIP researcher and member of the ATLAS experiment). Entrance is free and the film will be subtitled in Portuguese.
