LIP brings cosmic rays and radiotherapy innovation to Festival Geração Ciência

On 24 and 25 July, LIP took part in Festival Geração Ciência, organised by Ciência Viva at the Pavilhão do Conhecimento in Lisbon.
In the Experiments Zone, visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the research carried out at LIP, explore the world of cosmic rays — particles that reach the Earth from space — and discover FLASHGuard, a project developing technology to monitor the beams used in FLASH radiotherapy in real time.
LIP’s participation provided another opportunity to bring scientific research closer to audiences of different ages and to demonstrate how particle physics also contributes to the development of new applications in healthcare.
