Science and Technology in Space Exploration Meeting in Minho
"On National Scientific Culture Day, LIP has been at the meeting on Science and Technology in Space Exploration organised by the School of Sciences at the University of Minho, which welcomed more than a hundred students from schools in the region."
Space exploration, challenges, opportunities and job possibilities in this area were some of the topics covered. The initiative, organised by the UMinho School of Science (ECUM), brought together 119 students and 21 teachers from the 3rd cycle of basic and secondary education, many of whom take part in Ciência Viva Clubs at school, namely in partnership with LIP.
Students and teachers attended various lectures given by experts, as well as the round table "Contributions of Science and Technology to Space Exploration. What challenges for the future?", with, among others, Nuno Castro (moderator) and Patrícia Gonçalves (participant), both researchers at LIP and professors at UMinho and IST, respectively. Prizes were awarded to various space-related projects carried out by groups of students.
