United States and CERN sign joint statement of intent regarding FCC
"The declaration concerns Future Planning for Large Research Infrastructures, Advanced Scientific Computing and Open Science"
A joint statement of intent between the United States of America and CERN was signed on April 27 at the White House. In the document, the US expressed its intention to participate in the construction of the first stage of the Future Circular Collider (FCC-ee), should CERN Member States decide to go ahead with this project.
The initiative represents a crucial political milestone for turning the world's monumental research infrastructure into a reality in the coming years. The Future Circular Collider, made up of the FCC-ee and FCC-hh stages, is expected to begin construction in the next decade. It is expected to make a significant contribution to expanding our knowledge of particle physics by the end of this century.
